Hey there!

I’m Kayla Prashad, a Talent Agent at Influence + All Management! I will be sharing some of the top reasons why you should consider management, keep reading to see if any or all of these apply to you!

As influencer marketing has been skyrocketing and continues to grow, there’s no doubt these are exciting times for you as a content creator! Opportunities are increasing more and more and you’re here for it! But what happens when it becomes a little too much to handle? Let’s face it, there’s only 24 hours in a day and you’re only human. Perhaps now is the time to turn to someone who will have your back… and we might be able to help! Here are some signs you might need management.

1) Organization Isn't Your Strong Suit

Missed a deadline? Forgot to reply to a brand? We totally get it, there’s a lot to keep up with! You’re killing it when it comes to creating content, but administrative tasks are just not your thing. Don’t feel bad if your type-A personality isn’t always shining through. Leave those more mundane tasks to your manager! Talent agencies are even set up with their own management system, housing everything you need to easily stay organized! Whether it’s to keep track of your collaboration details, send you reminders or do follow-ups for late payments, rest assured you’ll feel a weight lifted off your shoulders. This way you can get back to doing what you love and your manager can take care of the rest!

2) You don't like to negotiate

Tired of those gifting opportunities or offers that don’t quite match your current rates? It can be stressful to ask for what you want, especially when it comes to money. You might be scared a brand will turn down a counter-offer or pass on your desired rates. Accepting offers right away might seem like the easiest way to get the ball rolling. Whatever the reason is, nothing should stop you from asking for what seems reasonable in terms of payment. A manager is able to take the time to discuss and negotiate on your behalf in order to secure an agreement that benefits both parties! At the end of the day, you deserve to be compensated adequately, no matter what!

3) Reading through contracts is a struggle

Falling asleep halfway through exhibit A? Reviewing a legal agreement is arguably an influencer’s least favourite part of the job. You probably have much better things to do than to go over a 14-page contract. Don’t beat yourself up because you didn’t go to law school! As much as it is crucial to thoroughly review an agreement before you sign it, it’s probably even more stressful to try to understand the lingo. A manager knows exactly what to look out for and what needs to be amended. Avoid the headaches, let your manager help you make sure you’re always protected before jumping into a new partnership!

4) Missing out on opportunities

Starting to feel overworked? Handling your own schedule and projects is a great investment, but definitely time-consuming! There’s nothing worse than turning down new opportunities knowing you won’t be able to commit to them. A manager is essentially here to make your life easier so you have more time to grow your brand and continue to create amazing content. With the support of a manager, you can take on more without compromising. Not only will you be well-suited to fit more work into your schedule, your manager can put you forward for more great opportunities you wouldn’t be getting on your own.

5) Proactive pitching terrifies you

Is selling yourself to brands the last thing on your mind? Not only will you be well-suited to fit more work into your schedule, your manager is actively putting you forward for new opportunities you wouldn’t be getting on your own. Through an agency’s broad network of contacts within the fashion, beauty, lifestyle, wellness, food, design industries, you benefit from gaining visibility to many more contacts allowing you to explore partnerships with your favourite brands, as well as with new ones to discover!
